Working with people like Arrie and John remind us of why we love what we do so much. They are a blast to be around, they love each other so much, they were down for whatever weird photo suggestions we had, and we all pretty much laughed the entire session at Jungle Gardens. Their love story is a sweet one and here’s Arrie’s recap of it.
“John and I met in front of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church on UL’s campus. We heard about each other through a mutual friend, but thought it was merely impossible that we would ever actually meet. What are the odds, right? One Friday, I decided to attend a noon mass on campus at Wisdom. John of all people attended the same mass as well. We introduced ourselves to one another after the mass was over; anxiously waiting around for any chance to look his way and say hello. We went on our first date shortly after. My graduation was quickly approaching and I was soon going to be looking for a teaching position, and John had just gotten into Physical Therapy school in Shreveport. I still remember the night we went from laughs and jokes to serious conversation about the reality of him moving 205 miles away after only knowing each other for a month. We agreed that our feelings were too strong to push aside and neglect. We are both forever grateful that we gave this love a chance to thrive. Temporary hurt and longing for your soul mate doesn’t compare to the life you have once you’re reunited. I remind myself of that constantly. Then 2.5 years later, in the same exact spot that we met outside the doors of Wisdom, John got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together. There in front of God, our families, and Father Sibley I knew that my life would never be the same. May our marriage be as selfless, humble, and welcoming as that moment.”
Thank you for allowing us to capture the love, romance and laughter that is no doubt constantly shared between the two of you! We can’t wait to get to know you more and photograph your wedding day.
